I once attended a great webinar on being a trailblazing woman put on by the Aspire Foundation. It was truly inspiring and amazing. I could go on and on about what I learned but of the many things, the main takeaway that I received was "speak the truth, even if your voice shakes." How wonderful and oh-so truthful!
Stemming from this article: Speak The Truth, Even If Your Voice Shakes - Forbes, you learn that highly respectable insights for individuals that work with people. Unless you live under a rock - you work with people! My personal favorite insight is, "Be very clear in explaining exactly what they need to do differently. Don’t just talk in broad, general terms. Give them specific examples of what they have done wrong and then give them an example of how they could have handled things differently." Great advice.
People should feel comfortable to speak the truth. Yet, there is a give and take to speaking the truth, naturally. A very delicate balance. This advice is tantamount to maintaining a healthy and positive relationships within the work walls and within the halls of a person's personal life.
Are you clear? Are you specific? Do you speak the truth?
